‘Anything for Salman,’ says Preity

IPL was the summer movie I did and enjoyed thoroughly. And after it is over, I am missing every single member of my team,” says the actress who was known to hug her players after her team had a home run.

But she never got a chance to do it in semi-finals after her team bowed out? “The semi-final was our worst-performance day. But irrespective of that, I feel that the team performed really well. I am very proud of the boys,”

So, it is back to the greasepaint? “Totally! I am back in the world of action. My movies Har Pal and Heroes are almost ready. You will see me a lot on the silver screen after seeing me on the small screen,” she laughs. Her movies are very special to her. “That’s because I live for myself and no one else. So the movies that I have done are the ones I wanted to be a part of. And when I am a part of something, I give my heart and soul to it.”

And what about going super-glam in an item number she is doing in Salman Khan-starrer Main Aur Mrs Khanna . “We are still discussing that. It is a special song and nothing has been finalised yet. But the deal is – I will do anything for my buddy Salman,” PZ clarifies.

But many of her friends are nursing bruised egos because she didn’t invite them to watch her team’s matches. “I apologise to the people who expected me to send them invites to watch my team play. However, it was work and not a party. When I don’t have to send invites for the premieres of my movie, why should I send invites for the matches? In fact, I would have felt great if these people would have come, bought the tickets and watched our matches. But it was definitely not a party,” Preity says

Sallu-Kat: Making time for love

Salman and Katrina are very busy with their individual careers but still manage to take time out for each other.
Currently Salman and Katrina are both in Mumbai though Salman will fly to Australia next week for Main Aur Mrs Khanna and Katrina has given the mahurat shot for Ajab Prem Ki Ghajab kahani with Ranbir Kapoor in Mumbai. Looks like the two will miss each other sorely during the time their time apart. Whenever the two are in town you can spot them at the Bandstand Barista outlet, The CCD outlet at Carter Road and Katrina loves to hang out at the coffe shop at Taj Lands End in Bandra. They also attend private parties together, like the Shatranj Napoli one for instance, following which Salman drove her home in an auto rickshaw. Katrina also stays two buildings away from Salman's Galaxy Apartments. Here is how they have been there for each other over the last few months.


A source tells us, "In the past 3-4 months, Katrina has been very busy shooting abroad. She shot for Singh is Kinng in Australia, she went to London and then to Egypt for a song. After that she flew to Bangkok for the IIFAs and came back to Mumbai. Currently, she is in Mumbai. Salman, on the other hand, was shooting for wanted: Dead and Alive in India when she was shooting abroad and last month he shot for Main Aur Mrs Khanna in Australia. Currently he is shooting for Dus Ka Dum in Mumbai and wrapping up Yuvraaj as well.”


The source adds, "Katrina and Salman meet up all the time whenever they are in Mumbai. In March, when they were shooting for Yuvraaj in Panvel, Katrina and Salman stayed together at Salman's farmhouse over there, instead of commuting everyday. On the last day of the shoot, Katrina hosted a party at Salman's farmhouse for the entire cast and crew of the film."

Katrina was also present with Salman and his family during rehearsals for Dus Ka Dum.



On his TV show, celebrity guests Yuvraj and Harbhajan told him that they like Katrina Kaif. So he replied "mujhe bhi woh bahut pasand hai." In another interview, he admitted to seeing Katrina. He has also said that though he wants to get married, only destiny will decide when. The lady in question, who is also close to Salman's family members, feels that a relationship matters only if it culminates in marriage. She has never spoken about her relationship with Bollywood's oldest bachelor openly, but she has neither denied nor confirmed it, choosing not to comment or using the typical phrase "we are just good friends"

Salman Khan’s brand value goes through the roof!



June 21, 2008 (Sawf News) - 10 Ka Dum is not just getting decent TRP ratings it has sent Salman Khan's brand value skyrocketing. Studio 18 has acquired world rights for Salman - Ajay Devgan starrer, London Dreams for a whopping Rs. 120 crore, even before the film has gone on floors.

Jointly produced by Paramjeet Singh and Vipul Shah, and directed by Vipul Shah, the film is planned to be released with 500 prints worldwide.

Earlier, Eros International was reported to have lapped up Hrithik Roshan starrer Kites in a similar deal for Rs 110 crore, the highest so far by an Indian film. Salman's film has aced that amount.

Kites, directed by Anuraag Basu and produced by Rakesh Roshan, additionally stars Kangana Ranaut and US-based model Barbara Mori, and like London Dreams is yet to go on the floors.

Vipul Shah confirmed the deal to us saying, "It is true that we have clinched a deal for our London Dreams for a record breaking price. But right now it wouldn't be right to disclose the figures. We are planning a trial shoot presently between Salman and Ajay of two days."

Industry sources claim that Salman's popularity with 10 Ka Dum has helped London Dreams fetch such a whopping price.

The film tells the story of two musical geniuses who are childhood friends but end up turning foes when pitched against each other as competitors. It was conceived with Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan playing lead, but both declined to be pitted against each other. Santoshi then signed on Salman and Ajay Devgan instead.

Filming started early in 2007 with a day's shoot at the Golden Temple in Amritsar but stalled soon after over differences between the director and producer.

The film was revived in March with Vipul Shah as the director, replacing Raj Kumar Santoshi.

Shooting is expected to start by the end of this month in Mumbai, and move to locations in London in August - September.
